Installing on CentOS 7

Mon Sep 11, 2017 3:28 pm

Howdy,
So I have chosen to abandon the Windows 7 implementation plan and go for Linux. I get the feeling that this software installs easier and better on a 64bit environment and like many Open Source projects may be a more natural fit with Linux. Thus CentOS 7 it will be for me and I hope to get it working with 7.6.4.

There are 2 areas that I really need help with. -
(1) When I follow the instructions that I have found on the net, the wget(url) keeps giving back a message that there is nothing there. I have tried using both the aws & souceforge urls but no luck. Can I get a link to some clear (hopefully easy to follow) instructions on how to download and install OR even a wget that actually would download the 7.6.4 package?
(2) I would like to install it so that my no-ip hostname (http://myhostname.noip.net/dms) will carry me to the Login page for users. Are there any instructions available on how to do this?

in reality the Windows installation is in general easier.

While there are not manuals for the CE, you can see the commercial installation guide here: http://docs.logicaldoc.com/en/installation

another reference for CE is the Wiki: http://wiki.logicaldoc.com

regarding no-ip, we do no have any special How-to, but basically you should configure your gateway to route all the traffic coming to port 8080 to the path http://your_server:8080

Ok so bear with me here as I am new to much of this.

Currently I have jdk installed and the environment variable set, MySQL installed as part of my LAMP install with a database and user created. In one of the links you sent me it takes me to a download for what should be the Enterprise version - is that going to give me some sort of trial ware that will lock up after a period of time? In the other link it just says to download the software, no information on download to which folder or a wget link.

Would I honestly be asking for too much if I asked for some clearl (hopefully easy to follow) instructions that will aloow me to download the software, unzip it and install it so that it can be configured from the web browser.

- Download the installer from sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/logica ... p/download

- Open a console and unzip it

- Type the command: java -jar logicaldoc-installer.jar

- Follow the installation steps

this appears quite easy, the installation is quite automatic and to be honest i do not know how to help you more.
