Versioning of manually uploaded files over existing files?

We tried to make LogicalDOC as intuitive as possible, but an advice is always welcome.

Versioning of manually uploaded files over existing files?

Fri Oct 28, 2011 8:51 am

Good morning, we are trying to version some files in Logical Document Management but we are unable to do so.

1. We have created a folder: test1
2. Uploaded an Excel file, its shown as version 1.0.
3. We have downloaded that file from LogicalDOC.
4. We have open it and modified it in Excel.
5. We have uploaded it again manually to LogicalDOC, but it creates another file with the same name (2) and same version: 1.0.

It does not version the original file, why?

How or Where is the option to upload a file over an existing file in the Document Management, so we can version a file with new versions which are changed from Excel?

We dont want to use the plugin from Excel 2007 which automatically syncs with LogicaDOC since our company is using Excel 2003. We need to manually upload files to the Document Management over existing files and automatically version the overwritten file and the new uploaded file. Is this possible or anyway to do it?

You have to check-out the document and then check-in the new file. This is described in the manual: http://docs.logicaldoc.com/en/basic-ope ... -file.html

You are simply preforming multiple uploads.
