Touching the server.xml is not a good idea in case you don't know exactly what you are doing. Pelase look at the folder tomcat\logs completely delete the content there inside, then try to start logicaldoc, then return in the folder and inspect the log files trying to detect what the problem could be...

I think you could use a Fork primitive, the fork will start a desired numer of tasks in parallel. You may assign those tasks to the persons you have. you will then connect all the tasks to a Join primitive so the WF will wait for the completion of all the parallel tasks before moving on. you can define a workflow trigger, so when the document is added to that folder, people involved in the WS will be notified. Or you could simply subscribe those users to the notifications of that specific folder so they will receive an email each time a specific event occurs there inside.

Sorry, the question is unclear. The notifications cannot be enabled 'just for the first time'. If you want you could change the user's email to an unezisting email table: ld_user, column: ld_email
