Can you tell me what version of the software are you using?
In any case, check the application logs
They are stored in the repository under a folder named logs
e.g.: /LogicalDOC/repository/logs

Perhaps the document you are looking for has not yet been indexed, check that it is searchable from the GUI

One of the more important thing is to check that the folderId exist.
Because the system will try to create the new document in that folder and if the folder actually does not exists you will get an error

In the search form you should select the template, then you should add the field you defined to the searchable fields (by default they are Filename, Content and Tags). Please not that for custom fields LD uses a raw algorithm for indexing so you can search by exact value, or by appending the jolly *...

we started a new ticket in our issue tracker https://bugs.logicaldoc.com/ticket/876#ticket

Although there is not yet a specific date I think we will add it into LogicalDOC 8.1 development
