I have been trying to find some information on creating a plugin. I haven't seen any examples of how to create one, how to configure it, and finally how to make use of it once it is created. Meaning do you associate it with a template and have it run when a template is instantiated? Are the only available as scheduled tasks?
Specifically I was looking at writing a plugin for CE that can do some automatic population of fields based on analyzing the document being added. This could be anything as simple as breaking apart a file name or doing OCR on an image.
