Cannot configure SMTP for outgoing mail on production server

Hi. So Configuring Outgoing Email in local works fine (Windows 10, 64 bits) and we are able to send emails but we have been unable to do the same on our Production server (Linux centos 7) which fails with a Connection Timeout error message.

We are testing with SMTP.gmail.com and have tried ports 465, 587, 25 as well as with TLS and SSL connections.

Connection just times out no matter what.

Are they any configurations/software we need on our server before configuring email?
