Problems with installing LogicalDOC? No problems, the solution is closer than you think.

Debugging with eclipse Indigo

Wed Dec 14, 2011 1:03 pm

Hi. I'm trying to setup eclipse environment in order to user its integrated features for debugging the code.
Does anyone know how to configure eclipse with the project for activating tomcat and the debug functions from eclipse?
The development manual 1.4 doesn't give any information about this topic.

Thx.

Any progress with configuring Eclipse for debugging of LogicalDOC?

I cannot get Eclipse (Helios, SR2) even deploy logicaldoc-webapp as it requires some content in META-INF subdirectories which do not exist either in sources nor in the compiled target. Getting error at publishing:

Publishing failed
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-util\target\classes\META-INF\maven\com.logicaldoc\logicaldoc-util\pom.properties.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-i18n\target\classes\META-INF\maven\com.logicaldoc\logicaldoc-i18n\pom.properties.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-core\target\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-webdav\target\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-webservice\target\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-gui\war\WEB-INF\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.

Any guess?
I would like to get to degugging as well...

Any progress in setting Eclipse for degugging? I cannot even deploy LogicalDOC from Eclipse - publishing fails on missing some files in META-INF subdirectories which do not exist either in sources nor in the compiled target. Eclipse gives me the following error:

Publishing failed
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-util\target\classes\META-INF\maven\com.logicaldoc\logicaldoc-util\pom.properties.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-i18n\target\classes\META-INF\maven\com.logicaldoc\logicaldoc-i18n\pom.properties.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-core\target\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-webdav\target\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-webservice\target\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.
File not found: O:\projekty\logicaldoc-6.4-src\community\logicaldoc\logicaldoc-gui\war\WEB-INF\classes\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF.

Eclipse is set fo deploy physically to the webapps directory of Tomcat - I have no idea what those files are needed for. When deploying WAR from outside, Tomcat does not need them and all runs...
I also had to add logicaldoc-core, logicaldoc-webdav, logicaldoc-webservice and logicaldoc-gui dependencies into deployment assembly as they were missing in the original pom (resp. were considered "provided" which means they would had to be somehow prepared at Tomcat in advance which I really did not understand).

Any guess how to fix it? I would like to get to debugging as well, but until I am able to deploy it, I am sitting on my hands...

Thanks a lot,
Beeba
