Installation guide

Is there an installation guide for the free version on line somewhere? I've been reading the threads here talk about variables and stuff but that is beyond me. I'm new to this so do need step by step instructions. I was hoping the zip file contained a document but couldn't find one. Thanks,
Roger

Hmm, based on your suggestion, I did extract all the files and search for all the .txt files. I did find a readme.txt that tells me about catalina.bat run, but nothing about which Java to set up. If someone could offer their experiences in which Java and how to properly configure it, I would be most appreciative. Thanks again for your time.

The recommended Java version is the JRE 1.6.0 and depending form your OS you can opt for a 32bit or a 64 bit version,
while the recommended tomcat version is the 7.0

Many thanks for contributing. I did install the jre 6, update 30 and have set the jre_home variable. Catalina run seems like it does something but hangs at server startup. I did create a db called logicaldoc and issued the sql commands I found in the wiki. Is there something I missed or can test?

Thanks for the post. OK, now this is getting way over my head. The Squirrel tool is cool and all, but I think all I really need is a LogicalDoc for Dummies guide with me playing the part of the dummy. I am really good at following directions, but when it comes to Java and SQL I get lost fast.
