Struggling with installation on Windows Server 2008

Fri Feb 26, 2016 9:27 pm

I've really been having a tough time with this and can't figure out where I went wrong.

* Windows Server 2008
* JDK 1.7.0_79 installed
* JRE 7 installed
* set JAVA_HOME and JRE_HOME and restarted server
* downloaded logicaldoc-community-installer-7.4 per this link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/logica ... t/download per this webpage: http://www.logicaldoc.com/download-logi ... unity.html
* ran said installer and selected the embedded database option (this is still in test, not production)
* ran the catalina.bat file per this wiki: http://wiki.logicaldoc.com/wiki/Quick_I ... LogicalDOC

When I run the .bat file, a command prompt type thing pops up for a fraction of a second and then disappears. Going to any of the following URLs does not work (IE just says it can't display the page).

* localhost:8080
* localhost:8080/setup
* localhost:8080/logicaldoc
* localhost:8080/logicaldoc/setup

What step did I miss?

Your problem is most likely depends on the version of Java you have installed.

My suggestion is this:
if your PC has a 64-bit operating system you should install a 64-bit version of Java JDK 8.
If it is a 32-bit operating system you must should a 32-bit Java JDK 8

Then remove the already installe LogicalDOC from the control panel - uninstall software
proceed with a new install paying attention to the choice of Java version (32-bit/64-bit)

After installation you will have a system service name "LogicalDOC-Communty" that you can start/stop and manage from the sERVICES MANAGEMENT CONSOLE

note: last week we released version 7.4.2 of LogicalDOC https://sourceforge.net/projects/logicaldoc/
