Users suddenly unable to login in LD 6.3.5

Hi... I'ved been using logicaldoc CE for quite some time and its basic features was enough to cater our needs. however just the other day, I got complains that users are unable to view the files after they log-in. after thorough troubleshooting, I noticed non-admin users are not able able to login properly. I noticed in the logs the entry com.logicaldoc.web.service.SecurityServiceImpl --> User < username > is not valid. Furthermore, I am also unable to view the security tabs (while I logged in as admin) that I previously set for each folder.

any piece of advice on how I can go around this would be greatly appreciated....
