How to have multiple instances of LogicalDOC?

Tue May 04, 2010 4:32 pm

Hello,

I have installed LogicalDOC for my company. It's great but we want to have multiple instances of LogicalDOC to separate different IT departments that we have.

Do you know what I mean?
We want to have multiple LogicalDOCs for our company installed on one unique server. Do you know how can I do it?
One for Operations
Other for Systems
Other for Networking
Etc

It's possible to configure the access depending on port that we select? Per example:
\\logicaldoc:88 ->Operations LogicalDOC
\\logicaldoc:92 ->Systems LogicalDOC

Thanks in advance.

One quick approach is to create various first-level folders and use a single LogicalDOC. Each folder can be accessed by one group only, that represent the users of a specific office.

Another more clean approach is to install various LogicalDOCs in your server, but to achieve this you have to install and cofigure multiple Tomcats. Basically one Tomcat = one LogicalDOC.

Of course installing many tomcats in the same server requires you to properly configure working ports in order to avoid conflicts.
