logicalDoc 7.5 business PDF Preview

Mon Aug 15, 2016 4:07 pm

Hi,

i have a new installed logicalDoc 7.5.1 business on an Ubuntu 14.04 Server. All 3rd-party tools are installed and working. I can convert documents on the command-line, but thumbnails and pdf preview is not working.

if i open the preview-tab, the error 'stream must have data' is shown.

what do i have to check or install to get the pdf preview?

Hi ralf,
the preview of pdf depends essentially by only one components: OpenOffice/LibreOffice.
Basically LogicalDOC con use one of the 2 software, but you must properly configure the settings of "OpenOffice path"

With LibreOffice you can use

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/libreoffice

One last note:
rendering thumbnail depends by 2 things:
  1. PDF conversion (OpenOffice / LibreOffice)
  2. Ability to render the first page of PDF in image (Ghostscript)

Thank you for your answers. I found that the libreoffice setting must be set to

Code: Select all

/usr/lib/libreoffice
instead of /usr/bin

In the logfiles i found the error message, that the directory is needed and not the executable. So i set it to the directory and the preview is now working.

Hi Ralf,
thanks for sharing your solution, I checked and it seems that there is an error in the documentation site.
I reported it to my colleagues who will edit the page and screenshots.

Have a nice day
Alex
