Assigning specific storage to Folders

LogicalDOC has many interesting features, but requires some configuration process to show its full potential.

Assigning specific storage to Folders

Mon Aug 13, 2018 3:17 am

Good morning,

I need to have several folders (and it's contents) stored on one specific storage location (in one country) and all the other folders stored on another specific storage location (in a different country)

Is that possible?

Kind Regards,
Scott

Hi SMarshall,
this is possible at Workspace lavel (first level subfolders).

Basically you can setup different storage for the various Workspaces: storage1, storage2, storage3....
Each storage can be configured to store the data on a disk on a remote SMB folder, on Azure or Amazon S3

Thank you for you prompt and excellent reply.

I'm not sure if I should post a new post, but what would then be held in the SQL database about the files stored on the alternative storage location?

Hi Scott,

on the database there are all the metadata of the files: the file name, the upload date, who made the operations, the type of file, the complete history of the operations on the document and much more.

Also on the database there is the structure of the repository (folder organization), users, groups and permissions (rights)

The file, that is, the digital content instead is recorded on the storage
