dose this feature works only if the server is install on local network?
since our server is installed on amazon and while tring to import local or remote folder
result in "connection failed" error.

This works both on local folders(from the server's perspective) and remote onces. You have two distinct buttons to add a local folder or a remote folder.
If you receive 'connection failed' is because the user you configured cannot access that folder (in case of local folder the user is ths one that runs the logicaldoc daemon, in case of external folder you have to specify the username and password in the cofiguration).

the user configure %100 right(we test it) yet we get "connection failed" error.
in addition we get same failed result when trying to import local folders, please advice we have tried all the combinations
