Scan hangs

We've installed LogicalDOC for a client and have been slowly ramping up production usage. On one particular machine, using one particular scanner (this is a unique setup from other users in the same office) the scan dialog box loads, parameters can be set, but the scanner seems to hang on "transferring." Is this possibly a LogicalDOC problem or is it only the scanner?
The scanner is a Xerox DocuMate 152, and the system is Windows XP Pro, SP3.
