Open Source Document Management

With multiple versions of a document are checked in, I do not find a way to view older versions via the web front-end.
I understand that I can access older versions of a checked in document on the server at file level,
but is there a more comfortable way to retrieve a document's older versions (via the UI)?

Yes of course. Just select the desired document, than in the bottom panel there is a tab called 'Versions' here you find all the past versions and double click on one of them to download the file.
