Search by Metadata

We tried to make LogicalDOC as intuitive as possible, but an advice is always welcome.

Search by Metadata

Currently using LogicalDOC CE v. 7.6.4
I have a custom template that I have created an entry called "Search Names", into which I would like to enter a list of names related to this document. I would then like to be able to do a search for a specific name and any document that has that name in it be listed.

However, for some reason, it does not seem to be searching within the "Search Names" entry. Any reason why?

In the search form you should select the template,
then you should add the field you defined to the searchable fields (by default they are Filename, Content and Tags).
Please not that for custom fields LD uses a raw algorithm for indexing so you can search by exact value, or by appending the jolly * at the end of a word

e.g. to search documents that contains the word "McDonald's" in a field
you can express the query in 3 modes:
1) exactly: McDonald's
2) using quotes: "McDonald's"
3) using jolly (at the end): McDon*
