Read only access?

We tried to make LogicalDOC as intuitive as possible, but an advice is always welcome.

Read only access?

Is it possible to create a user or group that has only read access? Our users need only view the documents and we do not wabnt them deleting or modifying tags or anything relating to the documents. Otherwise, this is my first time using this product and it is great!

Yes of course, on each folder you have the Security tab in the details panel. Here you can assign all the permissions you want to groups or single users. So you can assign just read-only privileges to the users/groups you want.

Oddly enough, I did trhat, but if i log in as my "read only" user, this user can delete tags. Does this not apply to tags?

more in the ongoing saga of security (or lack thereof). :-) I created a new group and user within that group that has only read access to the folder and although they cannot create tags or modify file attributes, they can delete tags. is this by design for the CE or is it a bug? If I buy the business version with this be fixed? It's the perfect product for us if we can get past this issue.

I believeI haveset security properly. I created a new group with no rights except to read, created a user within that group that has no rights except to read. The issue i have is that even this user can remove tags. I need to have someone confirm that this is by design or am I missing something? If I need to purchase the business version I will but only if I get confirmation that the security works as I expect it would.

This seems to be a bug,
we need a little time to verify it and it would be useful to know on which version of the software has been detected.
If after our controls the problem will be found in maintenance versions and in the development it will be certainly correct.
Only a note for the future,
maybe you don't know that there is a dedicated place for reporting bugs which is the issue tracker http://issues.logicaldoc.com

Up to now I did not know if it was a bug or my own ignorance. :) I am running version 6.3
