GUI settings

When I fill a text into 'Welcome message' field, nothing seems to happen. Is 'Welcome message' field supported by CE?

Can I change the default language to something else? When I'm in login-screen, I always got English as the default language and list of all other languages. Because I'm using a language, which is in the end of the list, it is pretty frustrating to scroll down the list to select the language everytime I login in.

no need to select the language, leave balnk the field and enter, the GUI will show in the language specified in your user's profile, menu Personal->Profile
You can put the welcome message in Administration->Settings->GUI Settings and save.
Then logout and login.

Attention the welcome message appears below the application banner in a yellow background
